Tommie Warren's Obituary

Tommie Lee Warren, Sr. was born April 6, 1944 in Meridian, Mississippi to the union of Malcolm and Berline Warren. He was the eldest of 11 siblings. Tommie received Christ in 1965 under the Pastorate of the late Rev. Percy Lee at Union Vine Missionary Baptist Church.
He was educated in St. Louis Public Schools and graduated from Beaumont High School. Tommie enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1969.
In 1967, Tommie united in Holy matrimony to Esther Smith. To that union, five sons were born: Demetrice, Derrick, Dwayne, Derrell and Tommie Jr.
Tommie was employed at Westinghouse Electric in 1970 as a laborer and was promoted to shipping clerk and material inspector. Upon leaving Westinghouse, he was employed by Dierbergs Corporation as a shipping and receiving clerk, and retired in 2004. Tommie continued to live a productive life as an entrepreneur.
He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Warren (1975); sister, Marilyn (aka May); brother, Charles and four grandchildren, Rhonesha, Rhonda, Derrick Jr., and Derricka.
Tommie Lee Warren, Sr., longtime resident of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1:50 pm.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted and loving wife of 51 years ~ Mrs. Esther Warren; his daughter ~ Phyllis Davis (Reggie) and his sons ~ Demetrice, Derrick (Melba), Dwayne, Derrell and Tommie Jr. (Amy), all of St. Louis, Missouri. He also leaves: his loving mother ~ Berline Warren; sisters ~ Minnie, Odessa (Henry), Linda, Yvonne, Romona and Lavoris; brothers ~ Johnny, William, Jessie, and Michael; twenty-six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
