Willie Mathis' Obituary
Mr. Willie Mathis, Jr. was born on August 28, 1938 in Grady, Arkansas.
Believe it or not, he was baptized at an early age at Kendlin Star Baptist
Church under the leadership of Rev. R.J. Jones.
He moved to St. Louis in 1963 in search for better employment
opportunities. In this process, he worked many odd jobs. His best jobs
were with Airtherm Heating and Cooling Company and Ford Motor
Company where he was a spot welder for several years. He was a
peaceful man, very well liked by many. He loved music (especially
blues) and dancing. He always dressed very well, he was always the life
of the party.
Fishing was one of his hobbies, but gambling (especially shooting
craps), was his favorite.
Overall, Willie, Jr. was a great father. He did his best within his ability to
support his family. It’s sad to say but he will be missed very much.
He lived his life to the fullest. Rest in peace dad, we will always love you
forever.
