Life and Legacy:
My mother Bobbie Jean Nelson (Bobbie Hall Bobbie Lee) endured poverty and racism to rise up becoming a great mother, a great grandmother, a beautiful sister, a great leader in the St.Louis metropolitan area helping those in need, providing jobs and opportunities to those who otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to shine, to prosper …
Abandoned by her first husband with child, left stranded and penniless only to rise up through the ashes and became a beacon of hope for many including her siblings, enduring hardship and pain , having the faith, fortitude and strength to make history in a racist institution and changing lives forever …..
Returning to school to finish her education while providing for family, her faith in god lead her in a most promising direction, serving and helping others without regret …yes that’s what leaders do !
I can only cherish the moments and looking back brings me joy and happiness knowing she did her best and taught this principle of giving to my sister and I, so let us remember this great woman, honor her with love and gratitude for all she had accomplished, be inspired to carry on the legacy of giving, understanding being humble and gracious , forgiving to our fellow man …..
Mom your spirit lives on,the power of one spreads to through the universe
and touches many .. let us not forget this.
In Jesus name Amen
