Bobbie Jean Lee's Obituary
Bobbie Jean Lee, the eldest of eleven children, was born in Wilmar, Arkansas to the union of Ezra Lee Nelson Sr. and Elois Douglas Nelson. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and three brothers: Travis Nelson, Donald Nelson Sr., and Joe Robinson. Bobbie was educated in the Arkansas school system prior to relocating to St. Louis, Missouri. Upon arriving in St. Louis, she pursued her passion for cosmetology and earned her license. After working in the field for several years, she continued to elevate her education and career. Bobbie attended Hickey Business School, then obtained an associate’s degree in business from Forest Park Community College. She later graduated from St. Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in public service and community affairs. Bobbie also pursued graduate studies at Webster University. Throughout her academic journey, Bobbie was employed at Barnes Hospital, where she steadily advanced through the organization. Her dedication and leadership led her to become one of the first African American Directors at Barnes Hospital, serving as the Director of Dispatch and Mail Services. Known for her generosity and commitment to lifting others, Bobbie helped countless family members and community members gain employment. She was truly the “go-to” person for anyone striving to better their life. After twenty-nine years of service, she retired from Barnes Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, compassion, and opportunity. In the late 1950s, Bobbie married Floyd Hall, having been introduced to him by her dear friend Tina Turner. To this union, one child was born: Frantz Hall. Later in life, she married Percy Lee Jr., and to this union, one child was born: Cheryl Newaune Lee. Bobbie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She instilled strong Christian values, integrity, and love into her children and grandchildren. She cherished time with her family —especially her grandchildren—along with shopping, traveling, dining out, and the occasional visit to the casino. Bobbie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church before later uniting with Shalom Church City of Peace, where she remained for the rest of her life. She deeply loved her pastor and church family. On November 15, 2025, Bobbie transitioned from labor to reward. She leaves to cherish her sweet and lasting memories: her son, Frantz Hall; her daughter, Cheryl Posley (Jeff); her son-in-law, Jeff Posley; and her beloved grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Posley, Jason Posley, and Olivia Hall. She is also survived by three sisters —Alice Hamilton, Bevelyn Littleton, and Billie Nelson —and five brothers: Vernis Nelson Sr. (Virginia), Loyal Nelson (Gwendoyle), Kenneth Nelson (Sheila), Hurley Nelson, and Ezra Nelson Jr. In addition, she leaves special friends Kelvin and Darlene Chears, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her dearly. Bobbie’s life was one of purpose, faith, service, and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
