It is so fitting to have John's visitation on Easter Sunday! That is especially the day I ALWAYS think of your mom and dad and every family member that could get out to Warrenton that early in the morning to attend worship at St. John's. EVERY Easter, to this day, I can see your mom all dressed up with a beautiful Easter hat! She would have that gorgeous smile on her face, along with your dad, not only because of the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ; but also because they were sooooo very happy to have all of you there with them. I also remember another time when it had snowed a LOT. We were heading into town to pick up some groceries so I called them to see if they needed anything because we knew that your dad was unable to get out, either because he had surgery or maybe had been sick. It also was a Sunday. Jean said, oh no that was OK not to bother but thanked me. Then, John had told her to ask us if we would mind picking up a Sunday "paper" for him. Then she said, well...maybe you could get some milk too. Then a couple more items followed. So cute!!! So we took the items by their house, took them inside to them and then she said, "as long as you are here would you mind bringing the mail in from yesterday?" ha. They hadn't been able to walk down the drive because of the snow. From that time on, until she went with Jesus, she always called Steve and I her sweet snow birds! We loved both your parents so very much and really missed them in our church family. Everyone loved and respected them here in Warrenton. Please know that we will be praying for all of you in the days ahead and we are so sorry for your loss. How blessed you all are to have had John & Jean Sherod for your parents and grandparents. With sincere Christian love & sympathy, Steve and Sandy Robine
