I met Kathy in September 2010 when I was hired at HRC, Fort Knox. We immediately became friends. We would go to lunch together and other places outside of work. Kathy and I got along so well because she was very down to earth. She always kept it real. If, I asked her for advice, she would tell me the truth and would even make me laugh at some of her responses. When we had potlucks at work, I would ask Kathy to make her delicious chicken and rice and she would say, I'm not making that, you make it, but then she would turn around and surprise you with the dish. Kathy was a loving and kind person. She would do anything for you if she was able. When she retired and moved back home to Missouri, we still kept in touch laughing and keeping each other updated. I just can't believe she is gone. I am going to miss her voice, her friendship, and the laughter we shared via telephone. It is with great sadness, that I am sharing a memory because. I want to pick up the phone and call my friend. I pray God gives Kathy's family the comfort they need during this sorrowful time. Kathy, I know you are smiling in Heaven and keeping it real as you did here on earth. Until we meet again, my friend, keep smiling in Heaven. You earned your wings. In the meantime, I will forever hold the memories we shared. ❤️❤️ Gone but never forgotten!!!
